Assessment and Trinity Moderation
There are five assessed components for the Trinity certification. The Teaching Practice component is assessed on an ongoing basis and also includes lesson preparation, material design, and self evaluation in a TP Journal. Three of the components are in the form of written assignments and one is a Language Awareness test in Week 4 of the course. Below is a brief description of each of the written assignments.

Learner Profile Assignment
In this assignment the trainee draws up a needs analysis for one learner of English based on one- to- one interviews and samples of the learner's work. The trainee then prepares study material and recommendations for the learner.

Materials Assignment
Trainees provide a written rationale and evaluation of two pieces of material designed for Teaching Practice. This written evaluation is orally presented to a Trinity moderator at the end of the course.

Unknown Language
These four sessions give trainees the opportunity to experience the classroom from the other side by becoming a student of a foreign language. It helps them to recognize the dynamics of the classroom and the difficulties that learners can face. In this way trainees can understand for themselves the effectiveness of the teaching methodology that the programme adopts. The full experience is also recorded and assessed in a journal.
